How I’ve learnt to ride the Wave. Pt. 14 REGAIN YOUR NATURAL FLOW
For many weeks I have discussed in brief some of the conscious, more cognitive or analytical tools I use to help “Ride the Waves” in my life. I have talked about ACKNOWLEDGING and ACCEPTING what is taking place physically, mentally and emotionally IN THE MOMENT it’s occurring. I have shared the personal power you gain by making CONSCIOUS CHOICES or RESPONSES about how you want to experience the events in your life, rather than simply REACTING to them. Where reacting, in many instances, stems from unconscious and outdated belief patterns or sets of behaviours which no longer serve who you are and have the potential to be.
I have discussed the importance of recognizing and remembering everything in life is IMPERMANENT and things are always in a state of change. This is a Universal Law, nothing remains constant. So it is valuable to remember at all times, the experience you are experiencing, whether you perceive them as good or bad, can and will change. So you hold the POWER when you have the ability to manage your RESPONSES as life circumstances alter. EMPOWERMENT is achieved when you find your personal tools to create a state of balance between the waves rising, crashing or when there is a period of calm waters.
I identified the impact UN-MONITORED EMOTIONS can have on you. Where the middle ground is required between these two extremes of indulging in and bottling up is required to create self-mastery and more peace in your life, no matter what is thrown at you.
Now I will start sharing with you some of the “Practical Tools” I personally use to help create the longer duration of “Calm Waters”. Hopefully this will assist in expanding your awareness and help you identify some of your own.
As I mentioned in past notes, once I have consciously become aware of what I am experiencing in the moment, whether it be joy, sadness, loneliness or anger, I consciously go through the above steps.
If I am going through what feels like a long period of uncertainty, which has been the way of my life for quite some time as I have surrendered my logical control to live in the moment. In those moments I start to doubt my path because things have not gone the way I wanted or in the timing I wanted, I catch myself and put things into perspective from the above approach. This is my first step in “Getting a Grip” of the situation and my starting point of CHOOSING how I want to RESPOND to my triggers.
Now in all honesty, becoming consciously aware is not always enough. Especially when you find yourself falling deeper and deeper into your emotions. From my personal experience, I have found no benefit has come to me by blocking my emotions or indulging in them. So this is where the more “Practical Tools” come into play. These “TOOLS” are based on Self-Love, Respect and Allowing.
So one of the first things I do when I am AWARE I am not in my natural, harmonious flowing state is this. I do my best not to push myself or rush the process of releasing what is coming up for me. I understand it has a course to run which can be deeper than I am able to comprehend. So I take care to only action what must be done now (responsibilities which cannot be delayed) and do what I am inspired to do as I am inspired. Everything else I let sit until I am in a more balanced state. ACCEPTANCE & PATIENCE.
You see, many of our behaviour patterns, belief systems and the words we speak have been instilled into our being over many years or for those who believe, over many life times. For some, overnight change is possible, yet for most it is a gradual change or upgrade process requiring daily, moment by moment or event by event practice.
When we are releasing something from our system, which occurs naturally when it no longer serves us. It can be painful, heartbreaking and scary. So the last thing you want to do is add pressure in yourself by forcing yourself to “Do This” or ‘Be That”. It ultimately serves no one. It is a time to slow down and be gentle and loving towards yourself. A time to “ACKNOWLEDGE” a shift is taking place which will make room for something better to come in and replace it. You see, from this perspective, any emotions you experience have the potential to be POSITIVE and POWERFUL. It’s how YOU CHOOSE to view it.
By simply ALLOWING or giving yourself PERMISSION to experience your experiences from an AWARE state, simply letting them run their course without any further interference, you ALLOW them to MOVE ON faster.
However for many, the thought of being kind and loving towards yourself is such a foreign concept this task alone can be seen as a huge challenge. Feelings of guilt, not good enough, being selfish or being irresponsible can rise. Hence more triggers, yet these also need to be cleared as they hold the essence of limitation. These will be addressed in future notes.
So from today’s note, I hope you can see all the POWER comes from within you. YOU alone are the one who holds the key to how you experience this reality. Your evolutionary journey is unique, so if you want a different life experience YOU are the one who must change it. SELF-AWARENESS is POWER.
