Last week I started to speak about the second part of my personal process for “Riding the Waves” in my life based on ALLOWING or giving PERMISSION to experience your experiences from an AWARE state. Simply letting them run their course without any unnecessary interference, hence ALLOWING them to MOVE ON faster and with less drama.
I will further elaborate on the need to take actions or steps of SELF-LOVE, RESPECT and ALLOWING with the aim to help you realign with your natural state of balance. From this natural state of balance, life flows with ease, confidence and clarity. Love, abundance and beauty are an everyday day occurrence no matter where you are or what you are doing.
With the conscious/cognitive steps previously outlined in my earlier notes, I will go straight into why practicing SELF-LOVE and RESPECT is so important. For starters, we were born of love. At our core, we vibrate love unconditionally. It’s only through our earthy existence we have forgotten this. Though currently we are in a time of remembrance, we are waking up. So we as individuals and as a collective are being pushed or drawn to reconnect with our perfection, our deservingness, our limitlessness, our worthiness and our ultimate truth of purity and expansion.
For most of us, our unlimited potential has been hiding in the shadows, laced with anger, jealousy, greed, judgement, shame, guilt, pride, fears and so on. All ego based obstacles to wholeness. So to step up from the shadows into the light, we must create change. Personal change about the way we see our existence, how we see others and about how we choose to live our human lives.
SELF-LOVE and RESPECT are pivotal to this reconnection process. If you can be kind to yourself, you will not only radiate more happiness and feel more aligned to the essence of who you are, you will also attract kindness towards you as a universal law.
You see, it’s not just your PERSONAL EVOLUTION you are impacting. It’s your children, your family, your friends, your community, your country, earth and beyond.
When you are taking time to love and care for yourself, you are creating a vibration impacting directly and indirectly those around you. If you look at the way you treat yourself now. Are you taking actions of love and kindness? Or are you belittling and punishing yourself or others? Either way, this is what you are sharing. Remembering children are vulnerable and learn from those around them, at a young age they embed thought and behaviours patterns from you. I think most people can relate to having to unlearn many aspects of what our parents have taught us, heal our CHILDHOOD WOUNDS. So if you become AWARE NOW, you can CHOOSE to influence those in your life and further abroad with more EMPOWERING PERSPECTIVES and EXPERINCES. We all have a responsibility to support the next generation through the PERSONAL CHOICES we make in relation to our thoughts, words and actions.
So from the bigger picture perspective, SELF-LOVE, RESPECT, COMPASSION and KINDNESS are imperative. When you feel good and are flowing in harmony with your life, you have the power to influence and uplift others. So what are YOU CHOOSING? What are YOU TEACHING? You lead by example, even if you are not aware of it. Hence, this is why it is so important to become SELF-AWARE.
Some people say it is selfish to practise SELF-LOVE, however, from my experience and perspective you cannot truly help or even love others if you do not know how to love and help yourself. When you consciously practice SELF-LOVE your intentions are purely to realign yourself into a state of flow and balance, where you then naturally uplift others by your thoughts, words and actions. You are not coming from an ego place of hurting or harming others or a place of competition for example.
In essence everyone ultimately wants to feel love, express love and be loved, it’s just the way it is carried out which creates a variance in the ultimate outcome.
Here is an example
For those who know me know I left the securities and limitations of the mainstream existence in 2010. Following the road less travelled I have worked harder volunteering in various countries and in a variety of ways, than I did in my corporate career. Why? Because it was my calling and my passion to share what I could to help upskill, uplift and inspire others to discover their potential and live their dreams. However, I have learnt many lessons the hard way.
One of my big lessons was the practice of SELF-LOVE, which is something I have to be mindful of every day. In the early days I wanted to shine a light so much that even when I was exhausted, I pushed on. Putting others before me until I literally burnt out. I would then disappear for days or weeks to recharge without communication. I recognised my pattern of burning the candles at both ends to please others.
In the lead up to the burn out points I would notice the feelings of resentment and anger rising and my health deteriorating, as so many people wanted my time, day and night. As a result, at times being with these people was draining and no longer enjoyable. I then realised I was doing it from a place of obligation as I had already created expectations in their minds by allowing myself to be “On Call” or available “On Demand”. Maybe you can relate to this?
So what I discovered was I didn’t value or love myself enough to care for myself and my wellbeing. A tough lesson. So some of the actions I took, much to the disappointment, disapproval and anger of many at first was to create some boundaries on my time and accessibility. For example, I started turning off my phone so I was not accessible day and night. I was not running when people wanted me and I started to learn to say “NO” or “Not at this time”. This was not easy for me, yet I knew to continue being of service from a place of love, passion and inspiration, it had to happen. I needed to create a new pattern of thought and behaviour establishing a balance between self and others. It is still a work in progress, though I am happy to say, I am so much stronger now in my boundaries.
So from this brief example, you can see actions of SELF-LOVE were necessary to implement for me to remain aligned with heart and soul to support others better. Following explanation on the change, those people have become accustomed to my new pattern and all is well.
Now I ask you
