How I’ve learnt to ride the Wave. Pt. 18 WHAT ARE YOUR SELF-LOVE TOOLS?
This week’s note is a short one. For the past few weeks I’ve been talking about how important Self-Love is if you wish to create smoother and less frequent “Waves” to ride in your daily life.
As Actions, Thoughts and Words of Self-Love increase your energy levels, sense of joy and bring a clearer, more positive perspective of the world, you naturally influence and lift those around you and humanity as a whole.
I’ve been asking you to look at the words you speak, the actions you take and the thoughts you think to discover for yourself where you sit on the scale of Self-Love. What did you find?
For me this past week has been testing at times. Maybe for you also? Events in my life have gone from harmoniously flowing like a calm river stream, to what had the potential to be huge speed bumps and set me back into my past coping mechanisms, which certainly do not serve the person I am today. At times my physical body was purging, other times my thoughts and emotions unexpectedly being triggered creating as sense of irritation and frustration.
As I have learnt to be aware of what is happening within myself and deciding to value how I feel, I was able to catch myself early as the feelings and emotions started to rise. I did not attempt to block or stop them, nor did I allow myself to indulge in them and make myself feel worse. Instead I made a conscious decision to acknowledge them and allowed them to run their course. I made the CHOICE to GO EASY on myself as I found ways to bring myself back into a state of balance and harmony. At different times I called in different measures to assist with my re-connection to self. For example: I allowed myself to take a nap when my body called for it. When I felt myself drop, I played uplifting music. When my body started to feel stuck and irritated, I went outside for a walk or went to the gym. Giving my body the opportunity to release the energies which felt stifled. When people wanted me to do things or I had made plans to complete tasks which I knew I couldn’t complete from a place of willingness and joy, I delayed it until I was more aligned. When I needed time to myself, I chose to turn off my phone and give myself permission to just BE for a while.
These are not huge and elaborate things I did for myself, yet they were what I required to gently and lovingly support myself through the lows which were rising. I CHOSE not to push myself and did my best not to criticize and judge myself, as I know I am of little serve to myself and other coming from this space.
Obvious the calm river stream is what I would prefer, however life throws us all curve balls to test us at our core. Luckily I have learnt, it’s at these times we have the best opportunity to dig deep, rise above the possible dramas and break free from our limited beliefs and outdated behaviour patterns. It is here we can create a new experience and embrace a new, expansive and ever evolving path to travel.
