How I’ve learnt to ride the Wave. Pt. 3 ACCEPT WHAT IS!

As mentioned in my last note, this week I will discuss further the tool of ACCEPTING WHAT IS, as it has applied to my experiences and expansion.

When it comes to personal evolution, it is a solo journey. No one can do it for you. Many attempt to steer you in certain directions, sometimes we perceive it hinders, others it helps. However, no matter where you are in life the only true constant has been you, you hold the key. You have the control switch to how you experience your life.

Now last week when I was talking about Accepting What Is I also touched on the constant state of change, the nature of existence we reside in. Both Accepting What Is and Change go hand in hand.

Just because we choose to accept What Is in the moment, whether it be joy or jealousy, doesn’t mean we hold it as a constant and define this experience is now for life. It’s just the moment it’s happening. For example: this morning I was experiencing feelings of doubt and confusion. What did I do? I chose to accept in this moment, these feelings are rising (for whatever reason). I did not push them down, I didn’t not read too much into it (as I use to), I acknowledged and accepted it. I then reminded myself I have felt this way before and reassured myself it doesn’t last and confidence and clarity will return. And so it did. It’s as simple as this! You just need to ride the wave of the emotion, such as doubt, without allowing it to take control of you. Before I would have let my mind create a whirlwind of chaos which would consume and deplete me all day, quite possibly emotionally eat to comfort myself, yet this is no longer the case. Today it took a couple of hours to move on, the fact is, it moved on! I am learning to Master Myself and my experiences. Catch myself early before I let myself get in too deep.

So what can you do when you feel like you’ve let your emotions or situations take control of you? Just stop. Stop right where you are the moment you realize what you are doing. Do not allow yourself to go in and over analyse, avoid trying to justify or blame and just Accept What It now. Simply say to yourself “I am angry now”, and this will pass sooner if I stop feeding it with more thoughts, words and actions supporting its continuation. So you are not suppressing it, nor are you fuelling it. You are just accepting and allowing it to be. By accepting you stop the fight, the resistance and allow it to move on faster.

As I said, for me this is the first step. From here there are a multitude of ways you can go. So I would suggest if you are able to start practicing the acceptance of What Is, and yes it takes practice, then you start to find the tools which support you to bring about the frequency change to a happier, lighter experience. So this morning, while I was in my moments of doubt and confusion, I did not push myself to make important decisions, as that would create more pressure on my already confused state, instead I chose to spend a few moments looking at the view outside, allowing the wind to blow over and around me, taking my focus from the emotion I was experiencing. By the time I finished breakfast and showered, the feelings had past and I was back in balance. To be honest, it is not always this simple, yet this was the experience today.

So I encourage you to start taking more notice of your words, thoughts and actions. Are they fuelling your emotions in an uplifting way? If not, make the effort to change it. Do, say or think something which brings a smile and this will begin the momentum of the turn-around.

In the coming weeks I will expand on this and other tools to help raise your awareness and assist your expansion further. I trust this short note has been of benefit to you.
