Lift from your Emotional Responses. How I’ve learnt to ride the Emotional Wave!

As I have become accustom to, my next steps present as I need to know and action them, hence I’ve just been told my note to you today is a brief about how I have learn to ride the Emotional Wave, when its heading down. Quite timely as many may notice intensifying emotions as the current Full Moon Lunar Eclipse approaches.

For those new to this area, in short, the monthly moon cycle identifies key times for change and evolution. The Full Moon allows for release and letting go of things which no longer serve us (for our higher self/smoother path), while the New Moon encourages growth and opportunities, reaping the rewards (our expansion and bliss). The in between weeks allows time to integrate the changes.

This is a constant cycle and we are all impacted, for we are not separate. The New and Full moons influence us more and those who are sensitive tend to be more aware and feel it the most.

When an Eclipse is also taking place (Eclipse refers to the alignment of the Sun, Moon & Earth), it intensifies the experience.

For me, over many years I have read and experienced first hand how these amazing events of nature silently impact us to our very core (along with many others). Personally I have felt their effects on all levels of my being; body, mind and soul, as I am super sensitive to changes in energy/vibration. Some experiences have been pleasant and gentle where I, for the most part, could ride the wave with ease. Where others I have felt they cut so deep I felt I could not cope as my hidden wounds were pushed open, my subconscious blocks rising with force or my presumed biggest fears had come to the surface. A mix of emotions would rise and it would become overwhelming, confusing and dis empowering. Can you relate?

So if the latter is occurring in your life, you are not alone!! It happens to majority of us. This is what I used to do. I locked myself away, cried in my room, declared the world was out to get me, complained constantly to my friends, decided life was too hard, believed myself to be a victim and begged to return to my true home/state of being, I didn’t belong here!! Luckily, not any more. So read on and I will share with you in brief what I do.

Through years of trial and error, testing numerous options, theories and spiritual practices I have come to understand, what I call, TRUTHS FOR ME (as they will differ for you). This is my rough process and applies to any situation in life.

Firstly, on the cognitive level, I wish to ACCEPT WHAT IS by ACKNOWLEDGING my emotions in the PRESENT MOMENT, allowing them the rise and release, while doing my best to not give them power over me by JUDGING, BLAMING or OVER ANALYZING. Then reminding myself to choose NON-ATTACHMENT to them, for I understand is is NOT PERMANENT, it will change. For this is a universal law. Through realizing this is all part of the evolution process and I have control on how I CHOOSE TO RESPOND, it makes it an empowering process. Took me a long time to get to this point, now I can say YAY!!

If you were able to follow this, you may be able to see the following:

  1. I have not denied what has come up for me. I have not pushed it down to gain power for it will then rise again at a later date with more force.
  2. I have not given power and momentum to it through adding extra attention and labeling it by thinking, blaming or judging.
  3. I have not allowed myself to attach to it, telling myself it will last forever, as the truth is, and we all know it, it wont. Everything changes.
  4. Instead I have CHOSEN to see it as an opportunity. I can review how much I have learnt and grown by taking an empowered approach to dealing with it. This is AWARENESS!

So this is my my first process. My next is ALLOWING. While I allow myself to experience my experience from an empowered space, knowing it will not last, I allow myself to do what I am able to, to lift myself. This will differ depending on the emotion or circumstances.

Some examples:

  1.  I do my best not to push myself or rush the process of releasing, it has a course to run which can be deeper than I am able to comprehend. So I take care to only action what must be done now (responsibilities which cannot be delayed), and let the others sit until I am in a more balanced state. ACCEPTANCE & PATIENCE
  2. I remind myself once this is cleared, I have made room for something new and better to appear. POSITIVE THINKING & ALLOWING THE NEW.
  3. I do something nice for myself. Play uplifting music, have a bath, take a walk, read an empowering book, listen to someone inspirational on youtube, if need be have an energy clearing session, hug a tree, walk barefoot on the grass. Basically anything which is able to create a shift within myself to allow more light. SELF NURTURING BY DOING THINGS I LIKE.

Of course this takes practice and its ongoing work as in any moment we can be triggered. Sometimes it takes longer to get to a balanced, calm state than others, it is what it is. Yet in all honesty, the more self aware I have become, the more I have taken responsibility for how I respond, the faster I have lifted myself. Hence less need to look outside myself for the answers, though at times I still do, just not as often. Positive reassurance is helpful, if you don’t rely on it constantly (giving your power away).

In writing this I do appreciate we are all at different levels of understanding and life circumstances differ, yet this general approach can help lift you no matter your situation. Regardless of what triggers our emotions, we all have the same emotions.

So there it is, my basic strategy to deal with my emotions (funny, in writing this I just realized I had a strategy)! In the coming weeks I will expand on each of these points with examples to give you better clarity. So I trust this has been of benefit to you.
